No sooner did production at KMC Granules start up before KMC's diligent quality team went to work to establish a documentation system, partly to ease the daily work and gather experience, but also to ensure appropriate documentation being available to present and future customers. KMC decided to implement various quality standards at the granules factory. One of these is the British BRC Standard (British Retail Consortium). The granules factory passed the evaluation with flying colours and was awarded the highest mark “higher level”. The standard includes requirements of documentation and hygiene with the purpose of safeguarding food safety. The standard was originally worked out by British supermarket chains, but today a number of food industries require it from their sub-suppliers. Especially KMC's customers in the British market ask for this certification, but it is becoming increasingly popular in all markets.
