| 18 December 2006 | Increased energy efficiency at KMC’s Brande factory The investments in cleaner and safer production and consumption patterns at KMC’s Brande factory has lead to increased efficiency in the use of natural resources and reductions in pollution. Last year Brande’s protein factory decreased its energy use by 45% and the just finished campaign at the Brande starch factory shows additional energy savings of 8%. At the same time the water consumption has been reduced by 15,000 liter/hour. With an hourly capacity of 90 tons potatoes/hour the Brande factory is among the 3 most efficient starch factories in Europe.
