10 January 2007   Additional flakes capacity on-stream

The demand for high quality potato flakes is on the increase in Europe. In addition, the product quality and general service level of KMC has led to increased interest in KMC as a supplier of flakes and granules.

In order to meet customers' demand KMC decided to install additional flakes capacity at its state of the art potato granules and flakes factory.

The expansion project initiated in August 2006 has now been completed thereby doubling the capacity of KMC’s flakes production.

“The installation of additional capacity has been challenging, but as a result of a strong team effort production is now up and running even earlier than originally planned”, says Technical Director Jesper Jensen.

Also Chief Commercial Officer Bjarne Larsen is enthusiastic about the expansion.
“The expansion allows KMC to become a significant market player in potato flakes and granules complementing our other potato based businesses perfectly. For many customers our ability to supply a portfolio of different products makes us highly interesting as a supplier”, he says.
