Major
expansion at KMC Derivat
Soon after the launch of KMC’s new product lines, EmulsiForm
and CheeseMaker it became evident
that increased capacity at KMC's modification plant would be necessary.
Since year 2000 the production of modified potato starch at KMC Derivat
– KMC’s Brande plant for modified starch production - has
just about doubled and for the past 3 years the plant has worked at
full capacity.
An expansion of the plant therefore seemed an obvious decision and in
the early fall of 2007 plans were underway for an expansion that will
more than double the present capacity at KMC Derivat. The first part
of the building project – the new storage house – has been
finished and the entire project is expected to be ready shortly after
the start of the new 2008 campaign.
Commercial Manager Jens Helmer Larsen
looks forward to this expansion and in particular to the improved ability
to meet the increased requirements from the customers.
Jens Helmer Larsen also mentions his appreciation for a fast working
group of owners whose dedication to continued investments in the future
has allowed for fast action on this project.
Production Manager Brian Meldgaard, KMC Derivat also looks forward to
the larger capacity giving him the ability to meet the demands from
the sales team as well as further improved flexibility in his production
planning. |
