| 11 May 2009 | On April 29 and 30 and May 1 the KMC organization including KMC
HQ, KMC Derivat and KMC Granules went through a thorough audit by Bureau
Veritas Certification (BVC). All three locations were ISO 9001 (Quality
control) and ISO 22000 (food safety) recertified. KMC received its first
ISO certification in 1994. KMC Derivat - that produces physically and chemically modified starches - and KMC Granules were at the same time BRC certified with excellent results. At both production sites a grade A certification, the top category, was achieved. The auditors (Mr. Farshid Shirzad and Arne Mathiassen) remarked that they found KMC to give the areas of quality and food safety the highest priority and that the staff was both dedicated and competent, not least in the production facilities where the staff was very well trained in food safety. KMC President Uffe Andreasen expressed satisfaction with the result of the certifications, which are very important for KMC in its endeavors to be the natural first choice for starch and potato based products for national and international food businesses that value high levels of quality and food safety. |
