For the 3rd year running, KMC had the pleasure of participating with a booth at the IFT Annual Meeting & Food Expo. The set up this year was our largest gambit ever – both in terms of KMC participants and product offer exposure. Under the overall theme "How to build a better burger", we wanted to demonstrate how we can bring value to every layer of your everyday burger as an illustration of the multiple application areas that can benefit from our broad range of potato based ingredients.
Our crew of American and Danish KMC employees enjoyed the 3 days in Las Vegas and reports of the highest booth traffic ever. "We were delighted to welcome so many visitors at our booth," say Hugo Nielsen, Commercial Manager with responsibility for North America and adds that the acceptance of two KMC concepts onto the Trends & Solutions Tour offered by the IFT helped attract new contacts.
The KMC CheeseMaker range of specialty starches attracted a lot of attention from the audience. Dairy protein is an expensive ingredient and frequent price volatility makes the cost-in-use unpredictable. We can help replace dairy proteins with our cost effective solutions starches to make a process cheese product with a firm structure and cheese-like appearance.
Another hot subject was our range of cold swelling starches – ColdSwell – and their superior water binding performance. For instance, ColdSwell keeps a fat reduced salad dressing stable and ensures a pleasant smooth mouthfeel.
We thank current customers and new contacts for paying us a visit and we look forward to exploring future business opportunities.
