“I have accepted the post because I would like to help raise research, innovation and education higher on the political agenda”, he says and continues, “it requires us to use our research resources wisely for the highest possible benefit to society and business".
The interest in innovation and research is so profound that Nicolai Hansen in 2014 acquired a doctorate at Grenoble Ecole de Management with a dissertation on how research between companies and universities can be improved in the food area.
The Research & Education Committee consists of approx. 15 central persons from the business with special interest and knowledge in this area. Research and education is highly prioritized in the Food Cluster and is considered a prerequisite for the development of the business.
"Research is very important for us in the Food Cluster to be able to maintain and expand our position and competitiveness. It is crucial that we put more knowledge into our processes and products, and we only achieve this through a joint strategic and political effort”, Morten Andersen Linnet, Research Director of Danish Agriculture & Food Council explains.
In September Danish Agriculture and Food Council, Confederation of Danish Industry and a number of big Danish companies from the Food Cluster – among these KMC – presented a new Food Research Strategy to put focus on this particular area.
