The magic is in the recipe
A baker by trade and a food technologist by subsequent training, Claus Funch Hansen recently notched up five years in the KMC Food Innovation Lab. As one of a team of three technicians, this involves collaborating closely with customers on trialling and tweaking how KMC ingredients actually work in their production processes – the ultimate test.
According to Claus, all this experimenting and face-to-face interaction with customer experts means no two weeks are ever the same, and is a key element in his opinion about the job.
“It’s the best job I’ve ever had,” he says. “The surroundings and technical facilities are great, and I really appreciate the whole workplace tone of positivity, equality and mutual respect – right from the top down.”
He continues: “Our department has almost doubled in size in just five years, so it’s great that KMC focuses so clearly and consistently on teambuilding and good communication, and applies a lot of resources to keeping this such a good place to work.”
