Following the topping-out ceremony, the DKK 500 million (EUR 67 million) expansion is moving into the next phase, where installations, closing of the buildings and interior works will bring the final outline of the facility into view.
The expansion of KMC Derivaten in Brande is moving into its next phase.
With the main structures now in place, the project has reached a point where the final outline of the expanded facility is becoming increasingly visible. The progress was marked on 24 June, when colleagues, partners, contractors and people from the local community gathered at the construction site.
The expansion represents a total investment of DKK 500 million — approximately EUR 67 million — and will strengthen KMC’s production setup for modified potato starches. It is part of the continued development of KMC’s facilities in Brande and supports the company’s ability to create more value from Danish starch potatoes.
The 14,000 m² construction project includes new production facilities, a packing area, warehouse facilities, an office building and a mixer building, as well as the renovation of an existing chemical building.
The project now continues with installations, enclosing the buildings and interior works. There is still significant work ahead, but the expansion is steadily moving closer to completion.
KMC expects to take the expanded facility into use in autumn 2027.
